The Royal Canadian Legion Branch 613 held their Veterans’ Dinner , Saturday, June 3, 2017. Master of Ceremonies, Rick Hatt, welcomed the Veterans and their families saying it is one of the nights that the Royal Canadian Legion looks forward to the most – having our veterans over for dinner. The Veterans Dinner and Remembrance Day celebrations are two of the very significant events in our year of Remembering. We are the keepers of Remembrance- We take extreme pride in highlighting what you have accomplished for us – for mankind. Guests were entertained before dinner by Rob Delgaty. Sgt-at-Arms Comrade Howard Margeson lead the colour party, and bagpiper Ted Johnstone piped the head table guests into the hall. Peter Jackson lead the singing of O Canada.
Guests at the head table included MPDean Allison, MPP Sam Oosterhoff, MayorDave Augustyn, Deputy Zone Commander Kevin Froats, President of Talbot Trail Branch 613 Toni McKelvie and her husband Shawn and Br 613 Chaplain Rev. John Cathcart and his wife Phyllis. After dinner, guests continued to socialize and some even danced to Rob Delgaty’s music.
