“They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old: Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn. At the going down of the sun and in the morning, We will remember them.” ~excerpt from For the Fallen by Robert Laurence Binyon
Across Pelham, as is our tradition on the Sunday before Remembrance Day, it was a day of remembering those who have fallen and thanking those who have served and continue to serve our great Country.
Starting at 9 a.m. at the Fenwick cenotaph in Centennial Park; 9:45 a.m. at the Old Pelham Town Hall cenotaph on Canboro Road; 10:45 a.m Remembrance service at Fonthill Baptist Church; 12:30 p.m Peace Park cenotaph in Fonthill; afterwards we enjoyed a time of fellowship back at our Legion lounge with a light lunch served by our Branch 613 Ladies Auxiliary.
This Friday Nov. 11, Remembrance Day, our Royal Canadian Legion Branch 613 again welcomes the public to join us for a ceremony of remembrance at 11 a.m. at Veteran’s Park located in front of our Legion Hall. We will be serving a light lunch afterwards. Hope to see you there!
Please plan to arrive at 10:30 am as parking is limited.
